Photos of the Nature Island Literary Festival and Book Fair from August 6th to 8th 2010.
An exciting weekend of readings, story-telling, performances, music, art and craft by internationally acclaimed and local writers and artists. Various workshops in documentary filmmaking, poetry, book illustration, fiction, getting noticed online, sports journalism and a workshop for children plus writing competitions, local cuisine and entertainment.
The event took a place from August 6th to 8th 2010 at the UWI Open Campus. The festival was delighted to welcome the following overseas visitors: Cynthia Wilson, Esther Phillips and Philip Nanton from Barbados; Kei Miller, Esther Figueroa and Ian Randle from Jamaica, and Muhammad Muwakil from Trinidad. Leading Dominican writers also was performing. Also, at this year it was presented a dicussion of the Calypso lyrics with highlighting of Tim Durand poetry. Music was provided by the Sixth From Sisserou Singers, Bele Dancers, Giraudel Jing Ping Band, and others.
